Addressing an issue

I have received some comments, both in email and via Twitter, about a sponsorship we ran on the podcast episode 118. There seems to be some concern about the ethics and the reasoning behind this sponsor. First, let me say that the sponsor, and no I don’t mean Go To My PC, will not be returning to the show. This was a trial balloon of sorts, and I have decided it is not in the interests of the show to continue this sponsorship. Let me assure you, your dissatisfaction has been heard, and will continue to be heard when you dislike a sponsor we bring on board.

Second, I will simply say I did thorough research, and found numerous licensed, legal businesses from around the world who offer the services this sponsor does, and therefore I felt this was not likely to be an illegal, fraudulent, or otherwise unwelcome business.

Perhaps this was not the right venue for the sponsor, but I did not view this as a highly controversial sponsor, which it turned out to be. If you are an educator, parent, or otherwise took offence to the sponsor, I assure you that All Things Azeroth, Your World of Warcraft podcast is a safe place to tune in.

Lastly, I ask that if ever you have an issue with a sponsor, or a topic you hear talked about on the show, feel free to email me, or the show in general, to let us know what you think. This is, after all, Your World of Warcraft Podcast, so we want your input, feedback, and help to make this the best podcast it can be, and the most beneficial one for you. Thank you again for continuing to listen to All Things Azeroth.
